RIP Georg Ratzinger

Just heard about this

The Rev. Georg Ratzinger, a Roman Catholic priest and celebrated choirmaster who was the older brother of Benedict XVI, the pope emeritus, died on Wednesday in Regensburg, Germany, where he had lived for most of his life. He was 96.

His death was confirmed by the diocese in Regensburg. Father Ratzinger had been suffering from a serious illness, which the diocese did not identify. Benedict traveled from the Vatican to see his brother in Germany last month.

Never easy when the siblings go. Rest in peace Father.

They must have been very close
Everything I've read about the former Pope has said he isn't in very good health
The trip must have been quite difficult
He has passed on, hopefully quite gently

Having her last sibling pass on was rough for her given how close she was to her sister.

I remember a pleasant afternoon helping my grandma and her sister make cookies for Christmas.

If you saw my grandma and her sister you'd be like oh no God made two of them?!

That's why this story stuck with me.
