Good Karma Bad Karma

For the first 38 years of my life it was all bad news. A rough childhood and a hellish mental illness that went untreated through my twenties defined my life until I was 30. I discovered psychiatric medication when I was 30, and that was a great relief, but it also led to a withering spiritual stagnation that lasted for almost a decade.

I met my lovely wife and her wonderful family when I was 38, and that's been a bright spot and the turning point of my life. That led to a rekindling of spirituality in me, and to the most wonderful discovery of my life in that regard here recently; finally, the fruition of some good karma. I'm 46 years old now.

What are the circumstances that led to this horrible, turning into beautiful, drama? I wish I knew. It doesn't seem to have its roots in this life.
