So when will the President tell his supporters they have to show up at the polls?

Don't get me wrong, I see evidence of a well-run, proactive campaign every day. But I also see massive evidence of voter suppression by the other side, and know that their "base" votes with religious fervor.

Barack won in 2008 because of a huge turnout of young, minority and other new voters. That needs to happen again.

I expect the President's campaign to do something to really stimulate the otherwise-stay-at-home voters. And soon.

Thoughts?

3. Yes, I've been listening. But only a tiny fraction of his supporters hear those speeches.

And even in the quips "don't boo, vote!!!" Over and over and over again, he asks "I'm here for you, will you be there for me and vote"

Go sign up to be part of a campaign-sponsored canvass to knock on doors. If there is none in your state because it's already "safe," you can join your state's efforts to canvass in a nearby "swing" state. (For instance, I live in Chicago, and Illinois does not need a GOTV campaign, so we are sending canvassers to Iowa; this involves a 3-hour-each-way drive, but it's doable.)

Or at least sign-up on line to do this work via your cellphone. They'll give you lists of potential voters in critical states to call.

Exactly Obama and his surrogates are doing there bit and now it's up to us to GOTV. I'm taking off the weekend prior to the election and Monday and Tuesday to devote full time to GOTV.

9. I think Romney will have a tougher time getting his voters out

The crazy right wingers will be out to vote against Obama. The moderate Republicans and Independents who will be voting for Romney just don't have any motivation. They don't like the guy.

Concern noted.

ETA: I'm from Maryland, but hordes of us go to VA every single weekend to register voters and talk to fence sitters.

And guess what? From the polls, it's working!!!

Our President can't do everything - we have a job to do too! Don't wait for a blanket of TV adds - sign up for duty today. Knock on doors, make phone calls, and be the change you wish to see in the world.
