Mitt just pulled this number out of thin air because it sounds good. He was just lying to his donors to get money. It is that simple. Why are people acting like it is the truth and the number is a valid statistic?
Remember Mitt Romney will lie about anything. He is lying about this 47%.

The lie is his claim that ALL of these people are dependent on government, have a victim mentality, don't take responsibility for their lives, and are ALL hardcore Obama supporters. Come to think of it, that's multiple lies.

Another lie is his implication that the 47 percent pay no Federal income taxes because they are lazy, irresponsible freeloaders, not because of the deductions and credits that reduce their tax burden to zero. Romney seems to think it's okay for him to take advantage of deductions and loopholes to minimize his tax bill, but it's not okay for someone scraping by on $20,000 or living on Social Security to do the same thing.

In fact, most who don't pay Federal income tax either don't make enough money to pay or have paid in the past, are retired, and don't receive enough SS to pay.
This lie is based on a kernel of truth, just like any other stereotype. The fact of the matter is that there are millionaires who not only not pay any Federal income taxes, they also get refunds. Mittwit must be among that small group, the parasitic elite.

Romney takes the 47% and flips it into 47% get government help and demands that help. To me that is still lying by misrepresenting what the real statistic reads and redefining the meaning of the 47%.

One of the staffers was looking for something for Mitt to use and came across the statistic that 40 something percent of Americans pay no income tax. In their excitement to get the news to Mitt to use in his next speech, they didn't bother to look into that statistic to find out WHY they don't pay income taxes. It was just too juicy a number for him not to use it to his advantage. Or so he thought.

Plus, when he was using it with his fat cat friends in Boca Raton, he knew that NONE of them would ask, especially after he characterized them as "feeling like victims" and that they are dependent on the government and truly believe that they deserve all the help they get. HOW DARE THEY??? Imagine that? They are sitting there eating their steak and lobster with fine wines (all perfectly paired, of course) and talking about how these low lifes actually think they deserve food and shelter. So of course, it would never enter their minds why these moochers feel this way or why they are on the dole in the first place. Nor would it occur to them to think about all the people who pay into a system (Social Security, Medicare) or EARNED their benefits in service to their country. Or who were born with defective bodies. Or who had to quit their job to take care of their mom who had Alzheimer's.

Mitt just expected to be able to use that statistic to HIS advantage to a bunch of dumb ass donors who would write a check and never ask questions. And who would leave that dinner feeling pretty superior to the great unwashed masses.

Sickening....Has anyone mentioned taking up Pitchforks and Torches yet???? The peasants have had just about enough of this sh*t.
