But the state was a lost cause from the start.

Oh, well, at least fellow Americans here in Japan are feeling the Bern-- there was nearly 90% support for Bernie in the Americans Abroad voting in Japan, the largest support by any expat community

is where I'd put my money if I was a betting man.

Bernie has what it takes, charisma and message. those two will carry the day most days

The local voting place in Tokyo was at Temple University, which is about a mile or so from a train station that I pass through, but I had my state ballot right in front of me and decided to go with that instead.

Anyway, good to hear that you helped to make Bernie's support in Japan the highest of any expat community

There were at least a dozen of us in my area that voted Bernie. I've yet to meet a Hillary supporter in the flesh, though I know they're out there.

The JETs were good about getting the word out early and often, and Americans Abroad certainly made it easy for us to participate.

Here's to a hell of a night (well, more of an afternoon for us)

It was enough to convince me to vote instead in my Oregon primary which doesn't come up until May, but has a lot more delegates at stake. Refreshingly, in spite of my personal experience here, Thailand also went heavy for Bernie.

Most of the Hillary supporters here are older women playing the Vagina card and convinced it is there last chance to vote for a woman for President. They basically ignored all the other nightmares that surround her.

Whereabouts? I lived in Oregon for about four years, right before I came to Japan actually.

I can understand the argument for a first woman president, it IS a big deal.

However, they can't want it that badly, because they would have voted for Fiorina or Bachmann, if that was their sole issue.

While Hillary is sure as hell no Fiorina or Bachmann, she's still not a reliable ally to the left.

Graduated from Cleveland High in 1958 and then went on to Portland State, a really great school. My post graduate schooling was in Oregon up until my last degree in California at Cal State Long Beach.

A lot of my family now lives in Eugene although I have one nephew and a niece still in Portland. Been living in Chiang Mai, Thailand since retirement for the obvious advantageous budget reasons.

My mother currently lives in Portland. I spent a year there and finished up my bachelor's at Southern Oregon University.

Portland can be a cool city, but the climate kills me. Ashland/Medford essentially has two seasons: pleasant, and not AS pleasant, so that worked out well for a time.

The coldest I've ever been is during a winter in Portland, and I grew up in Wisconsin.

Where else have you been in the Pacific Rim?
