As a Bernie supporter I just want to comment on the lawsuit from the RNC to Hillary on emails.

Fuck them!
This is just another fishing expedition. Benghazzzziiiiii redux.
This is what they do when it comes to Hillary. That part does bother me, because it's what we can expect BUT I do not take even the tiniest amount of glee in the RNC doing this to her.

I'm more interested in anything the FBI has to say.
The RNC? it's just dirty politics to help them win in the GE.

I hope Bernie supporters and Hillary supporters can unite on this - it is still us against the RNC. And we do not condone their dirty politics.

I trust the Republicans will be as successful with that as they were with the Benghazi probe. n/t PoliticAverse Mar 2016 #1

what they did on Benghazi. They set out to damage Hillary and they did. Look at the graph of her favorability.

I agree that much of what the GOP attacked her on was a fabricated scandal. But they even admitted that their mission was to hurt her candidacy with the probe and they cited her polling numbers when claiming they were successful.

From that spawned the email scandal and that one has some legitimacy. Laws were broken. Classified material was exposed. FBI and authorities are all over it.

The defense of the email lawsuit is going to be obvious - the State Department has been severely overtaxed with FOIA requests. They were already under court order to do what they did.

But the GOP will want those emails before the general election so they can attack Hillary on them - they have to get cracking. Judicial Watch already has some lawsuits going for this. Since it appears that there will be testimony for the Judicial Watch lawsuit, maybe this is a ploy for the GOP to get in on that as an interested party. Who knows?

The State Department were defensive of Hillary. They kind of went into almost extreme denial according to one letter from the Inspector General. So the GOP are probably fishing for collusion there because of how the State Department behaved.

Beyond this, upcoming we have Cheryl and Huma probably testifying in court sometime shortly after the middle of next month and they may be followed by Hillary. They also might have to plead the 5th which will set off some media fireworks. The Senate/House want Pagliano to testify so that might happen. Sometime in May, the FBI and Justice Department will probably render their verdict on indictments. At some other upcoming date in the not too distant future, the Inspector Generals will weigh in on this and the role of Huma's multiple jobs and the Clinton Foundation conflict of interest.

The GOP are still intent on hurting Hillary's candidacy and as it's in the hands of law enforcement and the courts, there isn't a lot anyone can do about it. They are out to get her. This is not going away anytime soon. No matter what folks do, there are lots of media fireworks to come from one side or the other as decisions or reports come out. As a democratic supporter, posting this does not give me much pleasure. But Democratic folks ought to have their eyes wide open on what is going on here.

Remember the clip of Hillary brushing the fluff off her shoulder at the Benghazi hearing? There is very little chance of that outcome here. And that was all just for show because the favorability poll numbers show a different quantitative result - significant damage was already done. With this chapter, more damage is going to get done. You can count on it.

But good for him.

I have my reasons for preferring Bernie over Hillary, but I absolutely refuse to be part of a Republican schmear campaign or witch hunt against either candidate.

I don't dispute that, and I do admire her toughness and perseverance in the face of all of it. Just the fact that she chose to run again after getting knocked down in 2008 is a testament to those qualities.

On the other hand, I think the abuse she has taken over the years has caused her to become more secretive and even paranoid, and I think the fact that she felt the need to use a private server is emblematic of that.

Like the other Sanders supporters have said, the RNC investigation in BS and I think we should all stand united on that.

As one who has been sounding the alarm on RW propaganda media for many years, I am sometimes astounded to see so much of it brought here to DU by the trolls and a few careless members.
