Tweety's BIG FEAR 3/18/2016

Tweety, at the end of his show, expressed his ultimate nightmare fear that Clinton will win the election and be embroiled in all the scandals old and new, and Congress will be more obstructed than it is now. He said (and the panel agreed) that we have no government, and NEED a government that functions. And we won't have a functioning government with the gridlock that would accompany Hillary.

That's pretty perceptive for Tweety, who is a Hillary cheerleader.

Hillary with a whole train of baggage cars, with stuff hanging out everywhere, bungee cords, ropes to hold it all on. Bernie with one small valise, with a spare shirt and tie hanging out. Or maybe just a fanny pack.

The demographics have changed. The majority of the people do not care any more. More than 60 percent accept the notion of socialism, even.

And for many Millennials the knee jerk reaction to the word "communism" hasn't developed.

Also, as Bernie keeps asserting, he is a democratic socialist, who believes in a democracy that works toward the common good. It doesn't eliminate capitalism, it just eliminates the profit motive in such necessities as healthcare, providing for seniors, utilities, water(!) infrastructure, etc.

It acts as a governor on the "for me to win, you have to lose" paradigm which currently exists in capitalism.

He did note that Cuba under Castro has high quality healthcare and education, which is factual.

But don't let the facts get in your way.

If Bernie had baggage, Hillary's hit machine of Brock, Podesta, Blumenthal and others would have smeared him with it by now.

Hillary has railway cars filled with baggage.

...ignorance, ineptitude, gesticulation, and outright hero worship, Chris has flashes of sanity and even, dare I say it, rational thought.

My forever memory of Tweety, however, will be of him humping W*'s leg on national television.

http://thinkprogress.org/media/2007/08/09/15370/matthews-bush-monologue/

Immediately following President Bush’s press conference today, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews spent three unbroken minutes fawning over the president’s “powerful rendition” of his “philosophy” without uttering a single critical word. “I thought in listening to the president, I was listening to one of the great neoconservative minds,” gushed Matthews.

Calling Bush “powerful” on three separate occasions, Matthews marveled at the president’s defense of his foreign policy:
We were given a rare opportunity to hear the real philosophy of this administration with regard to the war in Iraq. A powerful rendition by the president of why we’re there. When he talked about the fact that we can support emerging democracies in the Middle East, and that’s the only way we can prevent future 9/11’s, you’re getting to the heart of why this administration is fighting that war in Iraq.

“This president is ready to fight like a rock through the rest of his term,” Matthews proclaimed. “He made it clear that he’s going to fight as long as it takes to develop a democracy in Iraq. There’s not going to be any change come September.”

Here is a nice list of the scandals from The Atlantic (which is not a right wing rag) with their interpretations of levels of concern/mild paraphrasing by me:

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/03/tracking-the-clinton-controversies-from-whitewater-to-benghazi/396182/

Clinton’s State Department Emails (2009-2013): Serious
Benghazi (2012-Current): Boring
Conflicts of Interest in Foggy Bottom (2009-2013): Arcane
Clintons’ Private Email Server (2009-2013): Serious
Sidney Blumenthal (2009-2013): Stupid/Mostly Over (maybe)
The Speeches (2001-Current): Intermittent
Clinton Foundation (1997-Current): Variable
The Bad Old Days (1975-2001): Mostly Played Out

If you have gotten into the habit of auto tuning out any criticism of her as just more right wing radio noise (completely understandable after learning as much as we did about her husband's sex life in the late 90s), you are probably unaware of her repeated examples of just unbelievablely BAD JUDGMENT when it comes to some ridiculously unnecessary stupid stuff. People are in prison for lesser mistakes than she has made, and believe it or not, that is still a possibility for her because of the FBI/not the Republicans.

that's just a tiny fraction of the crap that the Clinton's survived. The Mostly played out stuff WAS HUGE back then. Where have you been?

And all opinion.

Sorry.

They'll survive the new crap too. Soon it will be "mostly played out" as well.

Also, I can't wait until this Bernie silliness is over, and my DU is back to normal and supporting Democrats not attacking them. Oh well.

From The Atlantic which is NOT a Right Wing Rag. I am aware it is not a complete list as I was an adult when Bill joined the White House in 1992.

Clinton survivability is not the question. Your assertion was that the scandals are (to quote you) "made up crap" and I have provided you a link to a neutral source explaining which scandals are serious, and which are not.

Scandal is the appropriate term when inappropriate behavior or betrayal of a public trust occurs. Whether you personally deem the behavior inappropriate (and I have offered a reasonable understanding of the nattering about Bill's splashing his masculine fluids all over a young intern's blue dress because his wife was apparently not keeping him sexually satisfied) is not my concern, but being ignorant of the facts involved and just saying it's "made up crap" displays an ignorance of reality and, as I said, is factually incorrect.

Good night.
