AN OPEN LETTER TO HILLARY CLINTON

https://marianne.com/an-open-letter-to-hillary-clinton/

snips/

Hi, Hillary. You know me. I mean, we’re not friends, exactly, but we’re acquaintances. You were wonderful to me back in l994 when you invited me to the White House. It’s a memory I will treasure always, and you gave it to me. I thank you.

But none of that is enough to get my vote, or the vote of a lot of people I know. We only want to vote for you if you run like hell away from that corporate box you’ve landed in. I’m telling you, Hillary. The American people have become hip to what’s happening. We know now that Wall Street runs the country, and we don’t like it. And for many of us, we don’t want to vote for you if Wall Street runs you too.

STOP NOW. Stop cozying up to the banks, to the chemical companies, to the military-industrial complex, to the party machine, and to all the various financiers who make up the plutocracy now ruining this country. Yeah, I know a lot of them are nice people and that’s cool. But they should not be able to turn the elected representatives of the American people into mere inconveniences they can buy off election after election. And if we have a sense that you’d be just another puppet of the elite, then I don’t believe that you will win. We were fooled once, but I don’t think we’re going to be fooled again.

Years ago, George Lakoff compared Republicans to a critical father and Democrats to a nurturing mother. I pointed out a bit later that the critical father had become an abusive one — but that as anyone with any psychotherapeutic understanding knows, the child will ultimately put a lot of his or her blame on the mother who stood by and allowed the abuse to happen! That’s the Democratic Party machine today, Hillary. Please don’t be one of them.

Isn't it curious how people who "knew her when" can't seem to support Hillary? RufusTFirefly Mar 2016 #4

Asking Hillary to oppose polluting chemical companies and equally toxic banks is akin to asking Hillary to oppose Hillary. Not going to happen.

I'm thinking specifically of former Clinton White House counsel Bill Curry, founder of the Children's Defense Fund, Marian Wright Edelman, and, above all, former Clinton Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, who's known Hillary since she was in college.

Seems as though Hillary has "evolved" all right, but not in a positive way.

Details here:

And it likely ties in to the email scandal, as the reason for not using the government server -- she didn't want the payoff system found out,

The smart move would have been, if you're going to take all that money then don't run for President. Just walk away and keep it. I'm not condoning it, just saying it would have been the common sense thing to do.

But Hillary just HAS TO be President too. Her ego won't allow her to not grab for that chance, being within grabbing distance. And so now, she has made it pretty much inevitable that she will get caught for all of this, dragging all of us in the public who have no choice but to depend on her, if nominated, and the Dem party and this election down with her. She doesn't seem the slightest bit concerned about the inescapable bind she would be putting us in (if selected), by insisting on being the nominee.

I don't see any way that this doesn't end in a scandal that makes Bill's previous ones look like just a little bad press. It's a train wreck coming. It isn't a matter of her being charged with a crime or not, the fact of what she and Bill have done is already out there in the public (the article above and others), there's no putting it back in Pandora's box. The ONLY question is when the train wreck hits. We don't have much time to jump off the train. Once she's chosen, we're screwed.

One or two articles today will be five next week, and ten the week after. Shall we take bets on how long it will take to go boom! while we wait for it to happen? Lawyers can't fix the political consquences of this. That will fall squarely on us.
