The Republican race serves as a useful distraction from how bad things are for Clinton

The Republican presidential race is taking up most of the oxygen in the media, but in case you need a reminder about what a weak candidate Hillary Clinton is, here is a quick summary of the doldrums plaguing the Empire. Despite the air of inevitability that continues to surround Clinton, her fundraising is weak, Democratic turnout and enthusiasm is low, her poll numbers are lousy, the investigation into her emails is smoldering and voters don’t see her as honest or authentic. Yet in spite of it all, Clinton continues her limp toward the nomination.

In February, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) outraised Clinton by $13.4 million, but that’s not the bad news for Clinton. According to OpenSecrets, 70 percent of the individual contributions to Sanders’s campaign come from small donors. Only 19 percent of Clinton’s individual contributions come from small donors, which indicates a big enthusiasm gap among Democratic contributors. If Clinton doesn’t knock Sanders out of the race soon, her money supply may run dry.

For the inevitable jurors, once the alerting Hillary supporter wakes from their fainting:
The Terms of Service clearly state "But that does not mean that DU members are required to always be completely supportive of Democrats. During the ups-and-downs of politics and policy-making, it is perfectly normal to have mixed feelings about the Democratic officials we worked hard to help elect."

Clinton won because more people voted for her. Partly because your candidate blew off the entire South, where around 30% of delegates are.

Clinton did not force Bernie to blow off Texas and Florida and Georgia and Alabama etc etc.

If they can pull behind a candidate, even a scum like Trump, they own the White House.

Despite Hollywood's tendency to redo Classic movies (how many actors have now played Batman?) a large number of us are balking at reliving "the Clinton Years." Do we wait with baited breathe to see whether Bill will keep it in his pants this time? With an NSA *and* an FBI investigation ongoing BEFORE THE ELECTION, how quickly will the inevitable impeachment hearings begin?

Yeah, there are a lot of reasons for our enthusiasm gap, and that is BEFORE we talk about her policy issues.

The only thing their side has to fear is that Trump hasn't pledged his allegiance to obey the powers in charge. Once he does that, all resources can be turned to incenting their voters.

Oh, I'm sure all the SMART, SCARED voters will turn out for Hillary, which means landslide for Trump because he'll get the rest of them - you know, the ones who happily put Bush, Junior in office TWICE.

Worst case, we survived Bush. I expect we can survive Trump. Sigh.
