(11,366 posts)politics, with maintaining the status quo to the detriment of the working class, then, yes, that feminist is part of the establishment. It's a rare bird in Congress who represents the 90 percent and Sanders (along with precious few others) does.
And, I'm a 46-year-old white female who is concerned about the future of her children. You bet your bippie I'm angry.

(110,159 posts)for middle class and poor, seeing that is a Democratic issue and not a Sanders issue. He does not get to steal it from us.
Clinton has put in more time standing up for children in a blip in her life, than all of Sanders time in the public.
Feminists are never "the establishment" up against an old white man 25 yrs in congress. It doesn't get any more establishment than that.

(11,366 posts)He doesn't "protect corporations" OVER PEOPLE.... you forgot that last part. The money in politics he participates in is from THE PEOPLE and I wish he wasn't just one of a handful standing up for the middle class and poor, but he is, even among Democrats, who are doing a piss poor job at it as of late (see, Thomas Franks, "Listen, Liberal!" for more details).
And any help Clinton provided for children was wiped away when she decided to support driving their working Moms off welfare, droned them to death in other countries and talks of means testing Social Security. Period.
But, yes, there are establishment feminists, now. I know you simply don't want to see that, but I can see that there's a difference in a working-class feminists' goals and Clinton or McCaskill's goals, for example. I'm not part of the establishment and they are.

(11,366 posts)Because, from where I sit, they're making decisions that favor the elite, corporations and wealthy donors, who are part of the "establishment." And, they also all happen to be elite and very wealthy, which, makes them establishment.
The Establishment generally denotes a dominant group or elite that holds power or authority in a nation or organization. The Establishment may be a closed social group which selects its own members (as opposed to selection by merit or election) or specific entrenched elite structures, either in government or in specific institutions.
While I agree that women haven't held power for as long as men, obviously, I can't see how those female senators do not fit the definition above.

(110,159 posts)or defend. I get they are politicians. Mere politicians. You and others seems to be the one with issues having a tough time making a old white man 25 yrs in congress not part of the establishment.
They are, what they are. You are having the argument, not me.
