2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDemocratic voters are turning out in record numbers for our caucus tonight!
I have voted in every election, every caucus and every primary in Utah for 44 years. I have NEVER seen anything like it. We vote at the local school and sometimes, but rarely, the line goes out of the school a few people deep. Tonight it is 4 blocks long. My house is on the same street that goes to the school and it was stop and go traffic all the way up (a mile). There were hundreds of people waiting in line to vote.
There should be a short cut for the disabled. The line must be an hour wait. I sat for about 45 minutes thinking it might thin out but no luck. There is no way I could stand in line that long. I'm going back in an hour to see if the line is shorter. I don't want to break my streak of always voting.

(40,416 posts)Vote for the Dem of your choice. I voted for Bernie in MI and he had a surprise win.
You do your best for your choice. May the best candidate win. Democracy wins in the end when people take the trouble to choose.

(1,052 posts)Someone should pass the word along the line asking if elderly and disabled can be let in front. Democrats should be compassionate enough to help make that work.
Anybody reading this keep this in mind if you have to queue up to vote or caucus. Honor your elders.
