Hillary Clinton to Deliver Counterterrorism Address at Stanford University on Wednesday, March 23, 2016On Wednesday, March 23, Hillary Clinton will deliver a speech on counterterrorism at Stanford University. In the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Brussels, Clinton will highlight how now is a time for steady leadership when we must stand in solidarity with our European allies and respond firmly to defeat ISIS.
As Clinton said earlier today, These terrorists seek to undermine the democratic values that are the foundation of our alliance and our way of life, but they will never succeed. Today's attacks will only strengthen our resolve to stand together as allies and defeat terrorism and radical jihadism around the world.

Expanded surveillance will be in there I bet.
Ugh, I'm pretty sure the speech will push all the neocon buttons. Wonder if Blumenthal, Kagan and Kissinger helped draft it.

Where has she been on counterterrorism this entire campaign? Now it's time to make it front and center though.

(1,442 posts)Aren't her past voting records and speeches indicative of causing greater terrorism throughout the world rather than curtailing it?
Will this be a speech for political expediency and capitalizing on the current fearful heuristics to further that neocon stance she's trying to project and protect?
Hmmm one wonders what HRC will say to eh?
"More 'security' needed..."
"More intel gathering methods and strengthening Patriot Act..."
"More military involvement starting with 'no fly zones' that expands to the 'eventual boots on ground'..."
"We must better protect US interests here and abroad..."
Let's see if I can get a Yahtzee on the points I posed above....
