I was looking at a screen that had it at 41%.

...basically with the first data that was put up. And that was from at least two sources (AP, NYTs).

On the other hand, UT was called for Bernie at 7%...

However, I also would like an explanation...

But, no legitimate media calls races without dome verification...either exit polling or real numbers in swing precincts.

think of any presidential election. Alabama,Mississippi and any number of states are called that early.
