Trump hires Minnesota campaign director

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has hired a Minnesota campaign director and is planning a visit to the state.

Mike Lukach began working as Trump's state director last Monday, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Lukach managed the 2014 congressional campaign of Republican Stewart Mills.

David FitzSimmons, chief of staff to Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) said Lukach reached out to him to "talk about some of the basics of statewide races in Minnesota."

"It's always easier to go in and start playing than try to start something from scratch if something starts to develop late," he said.

The GOP nominee is also scheduled to attend a fundraiser in the state on Aug. 19. The event will be hosted by some GOP donors including Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus.

Minnesota hasn't voted for a Republican for president in decades.

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has already set up resources in Minnesota, including establishing a campaign manager, a spokeswoman and other paid advisers and organizers based in Minnesota, according to the Star Tribune. Her campaign in the state is planning to focus on jobs and economic security.

More evidence Trump's campaign is a scam.

No clue what he's trying to accomplish with that. I could see if he was doing a rally east of the Cascades (red country) but Seattle? Luckily, we protest like nobody's business up here (think May Day) so that should be interesting.

9. To me, not like Bernie's rhetoric. But an awful lot like Buster rhetoric.

His new names for HRC today are "Monster" and "Queen of Corruption". We heard that kind of bullshit a lot at DU during the darkest days of GD: P

All the bogus stuff about "election rigging".

At any rate, whichever it is, I agree this is the "disaffected" tour. Why the hell is he going to Seattle, unless this is the strategy.

Here's hoping he's wasting his time. I don't see how this could get him that many votes?
