After all, the convention didn't give him a permanent bounce and he had an extremely bad week after, but we know he can do better in brief spurts.

And likely some bad moments for Hillary, courtesy of her enemies, which literally reach from the halls of Congress, to 30 Rock, to the Koch alliance centered in Kansas, to the Kremlin and Ecuador's embassy in London, to Pyongyang, North Korea, to Iran, to ISIS's leadership, wherever they are today.

But I'm guessing the huge female lead is relatively stable. It's not going back to 15%.

That doesn't totally surprise me. I'm part of that age group. They've been the most exposed to AM hate talk throughout their adult lives. They've also been hurting economically for a long time (compared to older members of this country), with high rates of suicide among them.

because they trust she is going to make it better for them. Those who have seen a relative decline in their standard of living are responding to Trump's message, "make America great again". That is why he is pushing the false message that she is going to raise taxes on the middle class. He wants to erode her support there even if he has to lie to do it. Hillary has had the most debt forgiving, tax lowering and job creating plans for the middle class of any candidate this cycle. We really need to push those facts when we phone bank.

14. From my personal experience

... at several low-paying factories here in Ohio, many of them mostly recognize that their parents were far more successful. Many of them are indeed living in poverty (by USA standards), and they've been living that way their entire adult lives.

Among them, some find appeal in the hateful and scapegoating message of right-wing propagandists. They're angry themselves, so the hate resonates with them.

Most of them don't realize that they're being "played" and deflected from the real culprits:

It's also very hard to explain it to them. Several of them aren't very educated, but they know that their fathers were even less educated and got paid well to show up for work every day and put in a hard day's work.

Trump is selling a convincing distraction. I grew up in a rural poor area and know this demographic extremely well. Folks want fracking, factories and mining in their communities even if it kills them because it means jobs. They will go for Trump unless Hillary is able to convince them that she is all about bringing jobs back, job creation and debt forgiveness for them. These are the people who will jump on her idea of a job corp and will respond to the vocational training programs she mentioned in her nomination acceptance speech. I really want her to push this loud and clear and reach out to this demographic! We need "Made in the USA" like never before . We need to take this message away from the outsourcing King of Con Don.

I'm extremely white, and I know that a few of them have indeed been outright racists because they spoke to me privately, assuming that I was "one of them," and thus revealed themselves. Most of the dissatisfied white blue collar workers around here don't think that way, though! They just know that "something is wrong," and they've heard how only government is to blame for most of their lives.

They'll hear Limbaugh or some other liar complaining about Egypt getting "our tax dollars," like it's strictly a hand-out. Limbaugh leaves out details, though, such as the money being granted on the condition that it's used to buy weapons from our weapons manufacturers! It's another case of corporate welfare (indirect), but it's better to give listeners the perception that money they could use to help their own poverty-stricken lives is being handed out to other countries instead.

There is a fairly consistent xenophobia that they apply to all outsiders in general. It especially includes elites who hold them in disdain and misunderstand how much pride they take in a hard days work, doing the right thing by their communities and service to their country. They feel looked down on for doing the right thing and despise educated "latte liberals" who make them feel ashamed of who they are. In some respects they feel like they are the only true Americans left. Their distrust of minorities comes from being brain washed by RW hate, what they experience as a loss of culture as much as a loss of income. Hillary has a real opportunity to reach out to this group by showing respect and support for the hard working, patriotic people they are.

I typically feel pity, but there's times when I think, "Wake up, dummies!"

Many of them are indeed very hard working and they do their particular jobs very well.

Many of them were also never very "academics oriented," but they perform well in other ways. I highly doubt that people who do poorly in academics are suddenly going to disappear, like how Star Trek would make it seem! I always thought they needed some crew members who opted to simply mop floors and the like. Lol!

We keep saying we can't compete with China but we have to if we want to employ millions of people who need and are qualified for those jobs. These are the folks who do not want to go to college and resent being told that is the only path to success. In some of these places, using your head rather than your hands doesn't really qualify as "work". We have an opportunity to turn things around if we bring back manufacturing, work on a crumbling infrastructure and by developing the creation of, sales and servicing of green energy sources and products to employ millions of these people again.

For example, we don't even make our own transformers anymore if the electrical grid gets knocked out by a CME from the Sun! (Not to mention high-altitude nuclear blasts.) It's not beyond the realm of possibility. Ice core samples indicate that large CME's hit the Earth every few hundred years. It's just that our electronics based "civilized world" hasn't been in existence very long. Some "primitive" tribes would see beautiful lights in the sky, but otherwise would go on with their lives unaffected.

Large asteroid or comet strikes have more of a "Hollywood appeal," but the typical time between those disasters are millions of years apart.

Red-state change would be completely unimportant to the election of Dems.

That would be like no jump at all.

This couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. After all, Drumpf ran his whole campaign based on hatred and xenophobia, rather than on a platform of tolerance and inclusion, as HRC has done.

So it's not a surprise that pretty much every voting demographic other than frustrated white males will vote for him.

This is hardly a winning strategy, of course. Just ask McCain and Romney about how pissing off minorities will not help you win.
