Ed Rendell: Clinton Foundation should be disbanded if Clinton wins
By Rebecca Savransky - August 17, 2016, 03:02 pm
Former Gov. Ed Rendell (D-Pa.) says the Clinton Foundation should be disbanded if Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is elected to the White House.
I definitely think if she wins the presidency they have to disband it. I know itll be hard for President [Bill] Clinton because he cares very deeply about what the foundation has done, Rendell, a Clinton ally, told the New York Daily News.
Itd be impossible to keep the foundation open without at least the appearance of a problem.
Rendell, who also served as a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said the Clinton Foundation would at the least need to go into a "period of inactivity" during Clinton's time in office if she is elected.
On Tuesday, the Boston Globe's editorial board also called for the Clinton Foundation to be shut down if the Democratic nominee wins the White House...

(135,425 posts)They could put it into a holding pattern, or they could nominate a group of people, a board of directors, to oversee the foundation for the next eight years. The fiscal/budgetary end of it all needs to be like Caesar's Wife, above reproach, but there's no reason the good works this foundation has done should cease.
After all, they aren't getting any younger, it would probably be a good idea to start thinking in those terms anyway. They've created a very different way of shoveling "aid" to people, by employing them to make their own change, rather than giving them that one-time handout, and that paradigm is a good legacy.
Maybe they could rename it, too, if they felt that would be a distraction, but the infrastructure that organization has built should not be flushed.

(2,004 posts)Besides, all those efforts to bring clean renewable power to poor communities must be stopped asap. How dare the Clinton Foundation not work to the enrichment of the oil companies, like Halliburton, BP and Exxon. Did Rendell ask for those companies be shut down during the Bush years? What a vile tool.

(35,699 posts)He sure has no political courage. The Clinton Foundation gets high marks from independent charity rating agencies. Take anyone whose name is Clinton off the board for the duration of the Clinton Presidency but it is not right to shut is down just because many attack it for partisan purposes.

The other day Eddie was on tv and clearly does not yet know that none of the emails were marked classified in the heading because he kept saying that only three were properly marked. He is a stupid fool.
