I signed up and am hoping to get a few days off work to travel to a swing state. I don't know how much help I can be, though, because I am only admitted in two very blue states.

I was on the Voter Protection Team for Kerry, even though I'm not a lawyer. Bottom line is, unless you're a RESIDENT of most States, you won't be allowed inside the voting precinct. But if you can understand Election Law (which I could in Florida) you can advise voters before they go in or after they come out, and call in help if needed.

I got a call the other day asking if I could volunteer in one of three swing states. I chose Pennsylvania because it is closest and most economical to travel to of the three. They said someone would call in a few weeks with more details.

I went there for Kerry in 2004 in the general election and then for Obama in the 2008 primaries, and both lost. I didn't go for the general election in 2008 or 2012 and Obama won it both times. So I have decided I am bad luck there.
