Lincoln mourns

This political cartoon by Bill Mauldin was posted on November 23, 1963, the day after Kennedy's assassination, as most of you know. I remember it at the time it came out in the Chicago Sun Times, my hometown paper. It affected me deeply. I think the Party of Lincoln should take another look at this; not so much as the iconography of the past, but as the judgement of what they have done to a once great political party. Back when it was truly the Party of Lincoln. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, Lincoln would be utterly mortified at what you and your ilk have done.
