They hate Bill and they hate her. They generally prefer Rs to Ds.
One would think that the media would take notice and give a little credit to any candidate doing as well as is Hillary. Surely, if McCain or Romney had enjoyed Hillary's poll numbers and had been facing a loser of a candidate like Trump, the media would be full of stories lauding their exemplary campaigns. They would have all but one nail pounded into their opponent's political coffin.
But they just can't do it when it's a D, especially when that D is Hillary. She and Bill are the undeserving hippie hillbillies whose very residence in the WH stood as a personal affront to the entitled DC class. Forget their college degrees and their years of public service, they just don't "fit in" with the D elite. Nothing personal, of course, just the same way some kids just didn't fit in with the "in crowd" in junior high.
You know who does fit in? Donald Trump, that's who. He's entitled, just like them. Oh, they talk a big game about championing the self-made man who worked hard and achieved the American dream. But just below the surface, they hate that guy, because that guy is Bill Clinton or Barack Obama. They prefer a Bush or a Romney or a Trump, ie: men who never needed to soil their hands to become something. Rs prefer their royalty, and their royalty is made up exclusively of the rich and their progeny.
Yes, the media will never, never give Hillary credit for who she is, what she has accomplished and what she has done to build and fuel the electoral wipe out that is looming for Rs in November. She's just not one of them. Never has been, never will be.
