There's a whole litany of memes about welfare, SNAP etc. I've explained more than a few times that it's virtually impossible for non-citizens to take advantage of these benefits due to documentation that most illegals simply don't have. And more importantly, just by attempting to sign up, they run a huge risk of a one way trip to an ICE detention cell. In short, they ain't going to risk it unless they're as fucking stupid as those who actually believe the bullshit memes.

The thing you have to understand is that they don't want to believe that these statements are false. They want to believe that their problems are all caused by [insert favorite minority group(s) here]. They don't want to believe that trickle-down doesn't work.

So when the Washington Post or the New York Times or Snopes, or Rachael Maddow, or any other honest source fact-checks these statements they just refer back to Faux and Trump, because they want to believe.
