Trumps ad begins with a favorite lie of the GOP nominee that the system is rigged against Americans. PolitiFact has rated this a pants on fire lie, While there are isolated examples of bought local elections, experts say it cannot be replicated on a national scale. While it is possible to tamper with electronic voting machines, there is no evidence deliberate malfeasance has altered any election.
The ad said that there is a flood of Syrian refugees coming into the US. According to an ABC News fact check, The vetting process typically takes from 18-24 months. To expedite the process for Syrian refugees, the Obama Administration launched a surge operation with the hopes of reducing the time to three months in hopes of resettling some 10,000 refugees by fall 2016. According to the New York Times, however, the onerous and complex web of security checks and vetting procedures has hampered the expedited process.
Trumps ad claimed that illegal immigrants who commit crimes get to stay in the US, but this is also false. According to a Washington Post fact check, We reviewed cases from 2014 and 2015 involving 76 people charged with activities relating to foreign terrorist organizations. The majority of those cases involved naturalized U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. There were both naturalized and natural-born U.S. citizens (including those of Caucasian, African American or Hispanic descent). Many of the naturalized citizens had arrived in the country as children, and therefore, not recent immigrants.
The ad accused undocumented immigrants of skipping the line and collecting Social Security. PolitFact also rated this statement as not totally true, ...........

(17,301 posts)Even though his numerous lies are as plain as day and exposed by the minute, he doesn't flinch. One half-assed apology after months and months of spewing B.S. Now he's right back at it. Thankfully it is hurting him in the polls, but you would think he's be behind by 20 to 30%. It's unbelievable how anyone could support this poor excuse for a human being.

(3,284 posts)How on earth do you fight back against someone completely untethered from reality? I'm glad that most people seem to realize what's going on lately, but his base is so incredibly gullible. You can present them with hard facts and they'll still believe the outrageous lies he spews.

(58,785 posts)for us than it's working for Republicans. It's not OUR frustration.
As for his base and others who might have been go, presenting people with facts that contradict what they "know" to be true just makes them more stubborn, sure there's corruption in the facts. But the dysfunctional buffoon is accomplishing for us what we never could--educating many of them about him.
Let Trump be Trump and stay out of the way.

(15,262 posts)the ask is to have faith instead of thinking about real, physical truth. They need to create an environment where people place trust in them without asking if that trust is deserved or warranted, again like religion where the leader cannot be questioned and their almighty is always right.
You simply cannot argue about the metaphysical because there is no way to see it,likewise with the delusional, there are few ways to counter internal reality. How do you free the mind from delusional thinking?
