IQ, I dunno. I test ridiculously high on them, yet I don't think much of them.
Literacy, maybe. But then you run into the stuff the Voting Rights Act tried to correct. Plus what about when schools don't do their job? (Not that there aren't many issues with funding and how they're allowed to do their job.)
What we really need is a better fourth estate.

My own cognitive dissonance is trying to fit Trump supporters into that concept.
Cognitive dissonance refers to a situation involving conflicting attitudes, beliefs or behaviors. This produces a feeling of discomfort leading to an alteration in one of the attitudes, beliefs or behaviors to reduce the discomfort and restore balance etc.
