2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forum12-year-old running Trump campaign office in Colorado
KMOVAnd by young, that means 12 years old.
In one of the most important counties in swing state Colorado, Donald Trump is relying on 12-year-old Weston Imer, who runs the Jefferson County operation for the Trump campaign.
Jefferson County is one of the most populous counties in Colorado and is part of the Denver metro area.
Imer is in charge of the operation where volunteers will gather and help get out the vote, and while sitting behind a desk may not be the coolest thing to do, he hopes to use the position to inspire others.
I'd say 6th grade is par for the course for Trump.

(32,723 posts)They have been passing that whole "swing state" narrative for a while.
It's based on what states Bill Clinton won as opposed by what states Dubya won.
However they still have an attitude that the Democrats are trespassing if they go below the Mason-Dixon Line.
The only reason they think Florida is okay is it's got a lot of retired Yankees.

(128,717 posts)"You have a responsibility to your children to teach them," Laurel Imer said.
School starts for Weston Imer in September, and he hopes to lead the field office until then, recruiting friends and making Trump - who he has met - proud. He might even one day launch a campaign of his own.
"Watch for me - 2040," Imer said. "And Barron Trump, if you are watching, in 2040 I'll take you as my running mate."
He'll be tracked right into the college Republican clubs, etc., in another 6 years.

(34,195 posts)And this morning CNN read from the WSJ, citing the Trump campaign, that they have seven offices in all of Ohio.
A Trump supporter on at the time, denied that and said there are dozens and dozens of Trump offices in Ohio.
CNN then said, "Well, this is from the Trump campaign, saying they have only seven."
The Trump supporter: "No! No! We have dozens of offices in Ohio! Dozens!"

I don't understand why it's newsworthy that a 12-year-old is in charge of Trump's Colorado campaign when apparently a 4-year-old is responsible for his Twitter feed.

(1,771 posts)She describes the coffee shop she works at:
A Cup of Faith is a special place where the community can experience the warmth and comfort of Gods love and the inviting atmosphere of home. The community member that visits A Cup of Faith is searching for truth, spirituality, love, food, fun, friends and someone to listen to them. Thankfully, there is a place in Wheat Ridge where people can go to find all of these things especially someone willing to listen to them. We are a nonprofit organization that operates solely by donations. The cafe does not charge for its products or services; however, donations are greatly appreciated. Funds collected are used to provide ministry services to our community through various endeavors. We offer Bible studies, evangelism classes and other training. The vision of A Cup of Faith is to bring the community together.
Obama carried Jefferson County in 2012:

And the actual Jefferson County Republicans don't even mention Trump. They are concentrating on down ticket races.

Oh, and the Kids for Trump facebook has a "cute" little link (check out the comments) Does a 12 year old even understand the horrors inflicted on the Jews?

(10,893 posts)of me wants to mock this idea and say something like: "Twelve years old--that fits the mindset of the typical Trump voter." At the same time, I applaud the kid's willingness to participate in politics. Too often, people just sit idly and mope rather than be engaged. I tip my hat to him even though he's helping the enemy, and who knows...maybe he'll wise up about the GOP by the time he's old enough to vote, and as he takes more politics classes. I've seen it happen plenty of times during the past few years with kids who have once been GOP darlings, whether it's Pierson, Khron, or the kid who once wrote for WND.

(6,496 posts)If it is, it shouldn't be allowed. People running these campaigns ought to be eligible to vote in the election. I think at least 18 years old or 17, but turning 18 by election day. 12 is too young for this. The mom is in charge on paper, but wants to pawn all her work off to her kid... nice. I'd say if the mom is in charge on paper, then she ought to be the one actually in charge. I think it is ok to let the kid help out here and there, but don't let them get too involved or wrapped up in it. They can't vote yet. They are still a kid. Let them do some kid things. There's plenty of time for them to be involved when they are adults if they chose.
