the other's mostly lie. Sure, some of these supposedly sophisticated people turn out to be shocking self-deceivers with lead brains, believing what they want the same as the rubes, but when the job normally requires adoption of approved attitudes, why would this be different?

Somehow content with inner city poverty and hopelessness in minority communities ? That whole what do you have to lose statement may be tempting to some. Democratic politicians in inner cities must do better to fix the problems.

answer for that or do you really think everything is just rosy in inner city USA ? Do you even know the true African American unemployment rate? Why is it different than the White Unemployment rate? You got an answer for that If you say white privilege I agree, now what do you have to lose?

Individual racism that sadly persists to this day and that, thanks to Trump, is more blatant and unashamed than anytime since the 1950s, and institutional racism that is a historical and seemingly unending burden on each and every generation of people of color.

City governments can't do squat if state legislatures (overwhelmingly controlled by Republicans) and state governors (the majority of whom are Republicans) are determined to do nothing, or worse yet, exacerbate the problems through voter disenfranchisement, gutting the public schools (through school "choice" and charters), privatizing higher education, militarizing the police, etc. etc. And when the president is an out and out racist--as Donald Trump most obviously is--I wouldn't expect any of this to get better.

The fact is both employment and incomes for African Americans went UP under the first Clinton administrations, but then plummeted even worse than the general public during the economic collapse under Bush II.

There's a reason why Trump has roughly one percent support among African Americans. It's because he's being seen for what he is, the most racist national political figure since George Wallace. Wallace eventually saw the error of his ways, and in the last years of his life actually tried to heal some of the rifts he caused.

I doubt Trump will do the same.

Hi,

Pundits have come up with all kinds of responses to Trump. He is no fool, and he plays his base to perfection. If any African American is tempted to vote for Trump, I have one word - birther. Trump's politics start and end with birtherism.

is Trump's new campaign manager and she's a pretty competent pollster. She knows that if Trump can't get better than (where he's currently polling) 2% of the African-American vote (Romney got 6% and Bush got 8% and then 11%) he stands zero chance of making that up with white voters.
His Latino voter totals are, of course, also expectd to be pathetic.
