I suspect Kellyanne is trying to make him sound reasonable enough so those freaked out Ohio housewives might consider voting for him.

Similar to his new concern for the lives of blacks - also probably a Kellyanne idea - this is designed to make him more palatable to all the white middle class republicans his nasty rants have scared away.

When the Kellyanne prescription doesn't immediatly show better polling results there will be hell to pay. Since Trump has the patience of a three year old I hope Kellyanne is keeping her bags pack and her resume fresh.

He'll be down to 20% support in a couple of weeks and bow out, then a "moderate" republican will swoop in and beat Hillary by 10+ points nationally. Plausible, but just a hypothetical.
