"The Battle Hymn of the Republic" plays softly in the background, occasionally being drowned out by the braying of hounds outside.......

(37,540 posts)They only do ditto. If they had creative instincts, they would not associate with the stupid class that post on the worst website on the net. But JimRob loves the morons who keep him scamming for dollars.

Really Freepers think like 13 yr old kids from the 1940s and 50s
But then again they grew up on Father Knows Best and Pat Boone

(53,339 posts)...but we are surrounded by everyday contemporaneous examples of that kind of thing. Many fail, but many succeed because some dreamer came up with a good idea that caught on.
In my community a bunch of high school history students met a disabled Iraq War vet living with his two kids in a trailer where he could barely turn his wheelchair around. The students said, "Let's build him a house!" And they did, raising around a half million dollars to build two houses, one for the vet and his kids and an adjacent home for the vet's caregivers.
High school kids did that. Because they came up with a hokey, impossible idea and followed it through.
