“He’s the most disingenuous man I’ve ever seen,” she told MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell in a phone interview. “I want to tell you: my people will not believe him for a minute.”

At last month’s Republican National Convention, Trump said he would protect LGBTQ Americans from attacks like the Orlando massacre that left 49 people dead at a gay nightclub.

But the Academy Award-winner, who has publicly backed Democrat Hillary Clinton rejected his argument, arguing that Trump met with a group of anti-LGBTQ religious leaders since winning the nomination.

“How does he go from that meeting to telling my people that he will protect them?” she asked.
