Sympathy for the Devil?

It started when I read an online article at Salon "Maybe Donald Trump has really lost his mind: What if the GOP frontrunner isn’t crazy, but simply not well?" (Links below) From the article:
"Last October, Death and Taxes ran a piece wondering if Trump had dementia. They pointed to the fact that Trump’s father, Fred, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s six years prior to his death. They also highlighted Trump’s aggressive late-night tweets, his childish behavior, his name-calling and mood swings."

Then I watched John Oliver's hilarious clip on YouTube. One Trump comment in that clip especially struck me, where he said "I'm very highly educated. I know words; I have the best words."

The best words? Does he also have the best numbers? The best colors? It sounds like something a kid in kindergarten might say.

Then there's the fact that Trump speaks at the fourth grade level.

There are a lot of reasons why armchair, non-psychiatrists like myself shouldn't try to diagnose the mental state of a public figure. But is there any reason why I can't wonder if Trump is exhibiting early signs of dementia? If he is, then along with all the repulsion and anger I have towards him I can find room for a bit of sympathy.
