(2,720 posts)...so I won't say bad things about him. But he's also losing by at least 30 points in the Congressional primary, because his hate filled anti-Democratic party Green supporters around the country are by no means representative of the Florida electorate.
In fact, having such a kook attacking her from the left inoculates her from being attacked as "too liberal", which has been the knock on her before the kook Greens decided she was the cause for voters not swooning over Sanders.
So in the end, I think his run (and going down in flames) will help her.

(135,425 posts)Everyone knows that when you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. It's one thing to go to the table with one of them (odious as that may be) but when you start trashing a fellow Dem to a wingnut, it's not a winner.
I don't think--and this is just my opinion, others mileage may vary--associating oneself with a hatemonger with a message of "We both hate my opponent, yay!" is a winning strategy.
I do agree with you about the positioning as well. This is, in effect, a long-term boon to DWS. I would not be at all surprised if she comes back STRONG in the next two years, in terms of Congressional leadership. She can hardly be viewed as a lefty-lefty liberal if a lefty-lefty liberal is calling her the next best thing to a wingnut.
