You can hear in his voice how he wants to tell the truth. He learned from his mistakes.

Dean was talking about testifying before Congress. He was friends with Barry Goldwater Jr., who was a Congressman at the time. He said he knew his testimony would damage Nixon and wanted to talk to his Father first. Dean said he told Sen. Goldwater what he knew about Watergate. When he finished Goldwater sat there for a minute and then said "The son of a bitch never could tell the truth! Blow him out of the water.!"
