With deadline looming, Trump is not on the Minnesota ballot.

Political Wire:

Donald Trump is not yet on the Minnesota presidential ballot, according to KARE-TV.

As Gateway Pundit notes, the Minnesota Republican party has until August 29 to file but it’s not clear they will have time to file the necessary paperwork.

If they were to get an extension there would be an issue with having enough time to print the ballots for absentee voters.

Wasn't it like 2 weeks before the election when NJ Democrats were able to put Frank Lautenberg on the ballot after the original candidate was charged with some crimes or something?

And the ruling was made it October 2nd. The county clerks advised the justices that anything beyond the following Wednesday would not be doable. In addition, the Democratic Party had to pony up $800,000 for the cost to make it happen.

What is possible in one state is not necessarily possible in other states.

It's a certification issue not a ballot access issue. The Minnesota Republican Committee hasn't certified their candidate, yet. It's actually kind of bizarre in that it's not Trump's fault, technically.

Sounds to me like the GOP in MN. really doesn't want him! The Con Man is going to be PISSED!

It's not like Minnesota would have gone for Trump anyway

But it would have been fun if it had been in TX with its reliable bloc of Republican electoral votes, or a big swing state, or even a reliable red state with Republican voters screaming that they can't find Sir Can't-a-lot on the ballot.

A well run organization doesn't let this happen. It starts at the top, his campaign is clueless. They'll get on the ballot, but the media should embarrass the heck out of him with this.

paperwork had not been filed. They are scrambling.

When something bad happens there MUST be someone to blame, that's just the way repubs are. This one should certainly be interesting. Granted, Minnesota is solidly for Hillary, but it could certainly have an effect on state and local candidates. And of course there's the entertainment factor of watching the repub clusterfuck.

The Minnesota Republican Party is in complete disarray, though. They only got the papers filed today to ensure his place on the ballot, and only after people called and notified them than the deadline was almost here.

Over the past few years, the MN GOP has gotten more and more disorganized. There have been some scandals and the leadership has changed frequently. Nobody seems to know what they're doing at the top of the organization.

Fun Times!

From The Washington Post:

The state party's leaders got together and appointed alternates to try to fix the problem, and all their paperwork is expected to be in line to have Trump on the ballot this week (the deadline is Monday). But it's not clear that appointing alternates rather than electing them is even allowed under state party rules. Brodkorb told The Fix the party leaves itself vulnerable to legal challenges that could potentially knock Trump off the ballot again.
