(53,745 posts)domestic violence abuser, who also happens to be a white supremacist, heading up his campaign.
I say two weeks and Bannon will be gone as anything outside of that leaves no time whatsoever to put someone else in place to create an appearance of order out of the disarray.
Hey, isn't Trump supposed to be the brilliant businessman who hires only the best?
I just hope Hillary can get a TV ad out quickly that points all this sexual disfunction out in the Trump campaign leadership.

(27,433 posts)Trump has to know he'll lose this election. Right wing media mogul is his consolation prize. Having Ailes and Bannon on board is just the beginning.

(19,948 posts)The connection between Bannon and Conway is.... Robert Mercer, Wall Street billionaire.
Conway ran a super PAC for Ted Cruz paid for by Robert Mercer. When Cruz lost, they renamed the super PAC and took out hit ads on Hillary supporting Trump.
Mercer owns or financially backs Breibart. Hence Bannon.
Breibart.co.uk backed Brexit hence the appearance of Farage.

(58,785 posts)I'll play though, SticksnStones: How long for Bannon, with all his Breitbart baggage, his white nationalism, having Trump stand around while UK's nationalist UKIP leader takes his podium at his event, today's story that Bannon was charged with domestic violence 20 years ago? The reality that, though Trump's unquestionably a bigot, his entire ideology is himself, that there's no room in his world for any passion that isn't about him?
I'm going to guess, though, that Bannon will survive long enough to become part of the fallout after the first debate--because Mercer's money will encourage Trump to keep him in place until that disaster. So, the week after September 26.
P.s.: Where are Trump's kids in all this? Did they just mostly give up trying to influence and go home?

Slaughtering bears and wildebeest or whatever for Uday and Qusay, and "Tips for Unpaid Interns" by a couple of unpaid interns under Ivanka's yoke, but beyond that, a loud silence.

(2,108 posts)Of Mercer's or a package deal breaker.
Trump goes where the money flows. Whatever happens, I think it'll be Mercer's call, not Trump's.
And bear in mind, the media are portraying Clinton's speech yesterday as "now both sides are getting nasty". I don't think Trump's side thinks there's a need for a damage control firing. But who can foresee - this campaign season is surreal...
((I also think Ivanka is voting for Hillary, I think Ivanka sees how daddy is tarnishing the family brand. She seems to be the savviest of the siblings))

But seriously, at what point has anyone controlled Trump? At what point do we know of that attempts to thwart or control him haven't been met with doubling down on his own behavior? I also feel he can be bought, but only temporarily because he's far too much of a loose cannon to stay with anything just because it's something sensible people would consider to be in his interest.
With the election still over 2 months away, the odds are definitely on the side of another rupture. Of course, Perky Kellyanne could be the loser, pushed out by Bannon if she blocks him, but right now it's looking like she might be doing well with Trump himself and doing good things for his image.
Btw, Perky confirmed that Roger Ailes is not with the campaign. Don't know if he seriously considered it, but if so the Mercers won that one.

I think I'll go with Tuesday after Labor Day. What's that, uh, September 6...

(58,785 posts)After all, bringing him in is also damaging a lot of Trump support.
