There was a story that he absolutely hates Ailes as he has wanted to come out for years, and he wanted to make his long-term relationship public and known to the Fox audience. The story is that Ailes lost his shit when he heard this and allegedly threatened Shep with dismissal, blackmail out of the news business, a lawsuit over his contract, and all sorts of hideous humiliation. Then Ailes moved Shep -- by far their best live news person (he makes Brett Baier look even more wooden and inadequate) -- to the 3pm in the afternoon low-viewership time slot as a threat and a punishment.

So once in while Shep comes out with great stuff, like these comments! I hope he stays on after Ailes's scum is finally Lysol-ed out of that place and comes out and shakes up the old lady and old man Fox audience.
