So, Ms. Conway claims that online polling shows more support for Trump

In an interview on British television this week, Donald Trump's campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said that Trump "performs consistently better in online polling where a human being is not talking to another human being about what he or she may do in the elections." That's why Trump is trailing in the polls, she argues: His voters are wary of telling pollsters that they support the guy.

How pathetic, Marveled Hillary Rosen on CNN, that a campaign manager admits that the supporters need to hide to register their support.

(I love Hillary Rosen; it still bothers me that she had to apologize for her comment, four years ago, that Ann Romney had never worked a day in her life..)

"His voters are wary of telling pollsters that they support the guy. "

So Trump expects to get elected President of the "home of the brave" by the vote of people who are too afraid to admit they support him? Hm.

2. The problem with any online poll

1. If it is any source conducting an online poll besides a credible research organization it is purely BS. Why? Obviously and Online poll conducted by FOX News will be much different results than the same exact poll conducted at the same exact time by MSNBC. I never even look at the news polls for politics.

2. Most reputable research companies need to ask a host of questions in order to conduct a poll that somewhat mirrors the market. If a website conducts a poll where 80% of their users are maybe 55+ then you are looking at a poll of mostly seniors. Or the opposite...a young skewing website targeting say young adults doesn't represent the older demographic of voters.

3. If a phone poll is conducted using "push-polling" methods such as leading the person being polled to answer in a "pushed" style then that could result in bad phone polling data. However, reputable research companies don't do these styles of polls.

4. Why do companies rely on phone polling? Because they use random digit dialing to research people...well randomly. Online polls usually are conducted by relying on people to come to you voluntarily do a poll. This isn't random and can skew the data.

Summary...this Conway lady is nuts and has no idea what she is talking about.

She means a poll conducted by a polling company that collects data through online screens rather than phone calls.

If you've seen the movie, we are all Ingrid Bergman, to Trump's Charles Boyer.

With one exception...nobody's falling for it.
