... that has come out about him. And most of his demographic would applaud him for "disrespectin' them fancy wimmin" anyway.

I think this trip is about trying to impact the perceptions among Mexican- Americans/Latinos because someone has finally read the tea leaves and figured out they can't win unless they water down that vote for HRC. I.e., he doesn't expect much actual support from them, but if they turn out in high numbers for Clinton, there is a certain percentage point that - if reached - decides the election.

I don't pretend to know what he'll promise to try and get the deal, but he has to be seeking an endorsement of sorts - or at least a détente.
