2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWho Are The Democrats on Your Ballot in November, 2016?
Vote for them all, please. Encourage others to do the same, please. Even if they're not as progressive as you wish, they will still vote with the Democratic caucus in their state legislatures and in Congress. Even if you don't like them, they will still help to enact progressive legislation. Even if you think they are DINOs, they will support most of the causes you support, when it comes right down to it. Your vote truly does matter.
Vote for them all, please, because they are not Republicans. Vote for them all, because they are the better choice for any position they're running for. Your vote will help everyone, and is very much needed. Your encouragement of other voters is also important, because we need the largest turnout possible in November to help change the course of this country and your own state and local government.
Thanks very much!

(82,383 posts)we have about 5 Democrats running for Lt. Gov. of all things. And the State Senate district has a contest for the D nomination also.

(34,131 posts)Results for the races I could vote in with their R opponents:
US Senator: Patrick Murphy (I voted for Reginald Luster in the primary but will vote for Murphy in the GE.) vs Marco Rubio
US Representative: Al Lawson (He beat Corrine Brown, has been State Rep. but was time limited out.) vs. Neil Dunn
These have no R opponents listed in the primary:
State Rep: Loranne Ausely
Clerk of the Court: Gwen Marshall
State Attorney: Sean T. Desmond
PROPERTY APPRAISER: Akin Akinyemi
The most upsetting race for me is Supervisor of Elections. For a long time we've had the wonderful Ion Sancho but he's retiring. He endorsed Mark Earley who has worked in the office for many years. Alan Williams, a very good Democrat ran also and they will have a run off in November. I like Alan a lot, but I respect Ion Sancho's opinion and voted for Earley in the primary.

(146,262 posts)I know that district might seem to be a lock for the GOP candidate, but, if Republican turnout among evangelicals there is down due to Trump, a huge Democratic turnout could flip that seat.
I'd love to see that happen in such an enclave of right-wingery.
