Why is a presidential nominee even ALLOWED to represent our nation internationally?

What if Trump really fucks this up and causes Mexico to really REALLY pissed?

I'm just in awe of how fucking stupid this all is. Why is this allowed to happen?

No different than now President Obamas Berlin speech trip in July 2008.
Of course his trip and speech didn't revolve around todays hot button issues.

If he, you, me, or anyone, wants to go to Mexico and talk to someone, that's fine.

I didn't know Obama did that and frankly wouldn't have minded because he's not a fucking dolt.

Obama carries himself well and respects others.

Every candidate has done that. Some did it during the primary (remember Perry in England). Obama did it in 2008. Romney did some international trips in 2012.

There is nothing exceptional except for the fact this was decided at the last minute.

I think his aim is to provoke some minor war of words. He can then come back and tell voters how Mexico disrespects Americans.

CNN pointed out that there was only a Mexican flag at the podium and no American flag because Trump isn't the President and therefore isn't representing the U.S.
