But here's hoping.

My home state, and the one I plan on dying in if I have to crawl back there, is Ohio, and I would love for it to turn blue.

Cuz if TX goes Big Blue, it'd stretch the DC DEMS bi-partisanship credibility to the shattering point!

Plenty of us are fed up with the antics of Rick Perry and his "look-who's-worse" would-be successor.

We are also getting support from outside groups, from EMILY'S list to Howard and Jim Dean's DFA. It's still an uphill battle because we don't have the money the Republicans do, but they can't hide their record, and they can't make Greg Abbott any less dingbat crazy than he is, so we DO have a chance.

Scott Walker unfortunately I think will win unless the local backlash over the John Doe investigation is strong enough.

There are those of us who remember Ann Richards--and long for Wendy Davis to step into Ann's shoes.

All she needs to do is quote from her state Republican Party's steaming pile of stupid. Opposition research should be a piece of cake.

A Female Texan Democratic Governor has happened before and can happen again.

Of course, he won't have the money that Rick Scott does. And Scott is busily doing little goodie-type legislation - while avoiding medicare expansion by proposing it to a Republican legislature right before recess - and can just undo whatever he doesn't really like if he gets reelected. And I am assuming that Scott will make it more difficult to vote in Democratic areas. Wonder if any of the more egregious gerrymandering will be fixed, too.
Be interesting to see if Jebbie campaigns for him.

Terry Branstad is trying to get re-elected for a sixth term, and has gotten into some Christie-like trouble with inappropriate activities by some of his aides.

In fact on Friday I will be attending a fundraiser for the Fitzgerald Campaign where Bill Clinton will be the special guest host...I Can't Wait I am So Excited!!!

I implore to the rest of my fellow Democrats, 2014 is not the time to not show up at the polls. It is in fact essential that we show up in record numbers for a Midterm Election because we all know what is at stake across this country, & fortunately for us we have some really great candidates running for public office including the list of Democratic Gubernatorial Nominees as well as many opportunities to elect house Democrats to make significant gains in the House of Representatives, and probably races that are of the up-most importance is the many many races for United States Senator across the country. Retaining control of the US Senate should be our number one goal and fortunately for us, the Democratic Party, we have so many qualified & inspiring candidates a majority of which are very likely to defeat their Republican opposition, if and this is a major if, we Democrats turn out in November & cast our vote.

Whether young or old, Black, White, Hispanic, & all ethnicities, whether college educated or high school drop outs, religious or non-religious, whether they are gay, straight or bisexual it will be up to them to show up at the polls, and it is up to US to ensure maximum turnout for these more than qualified candidates, as well as the many local & state ballot initiatives that are on the line this November...

I am a 24 year old Liberal Democrat, and I volunteer & contribute in any and every way possible, ive knocked on doors, made phone calls, utilized social media, and I have really been able to reach a broad spectrum of individuals, most of which where not even aware that there was an election in 2014, let alone did they know the significance of the elections.

So I ask you, better yet I challenge you to talk to everyone & anyone at every opportunity you have to talk to your friends, family, fellow students, co-workers, & yes even complete & total strangers, explain to them the importance of this election, this November & why you believe our party & our candidates deserve & need their vote, also if faced with tea party talking points or anti Obama rhetoric, challenge them, ask them what the Republicans have done for them, ask them what the Republicans plan to do about the major issues we are sure to face in the coming years, & I simply cannot fathom the thought of the Republican party gaining control of the United States Senate, not only because I am a staunch proud Liberal Democrat, not only because I happen to disagree wholeheartedly with their politics & policies, yet what I fear the most is what the Republicans are now openly saying & that is should they gain control of the Senate they will proudly block & repeal every Democratic piece of legislation, they make no bones about turning back the progress we have made over the past 6 years, and that is simply wrong...
