The 2016 elections

With all the hatred aimed at Hillary these past few days, perhaps we need to remember that she is not a candidate. Yet.

If she is smart - and she is - she will at least wait for the mid term elections, to see if - heavens forbids - the Republicans took over the Senate. (I shudder when I think that Iowans will send the castrating woman to replace Harkin).

I think that in 2011, it was not until the summer when Michele Bachmann was the first to announce her candidacy in a debate.

Thus, we may have another full year before we will start learning about candidates.

So... let's cool the rhetoric.

For myself: the most important issue, the only issue that has been for me since 1988 was the Supreme Court.

Ruth Ginsburg is 81 and in poor health

Stephen Breyer is 76

Sonia Sotomayor is 60

Elena Kagan is 54

On the other side:

Antonin Scalia is 78

Anthony Kennedy is 78

Clarence Thomas is 66

Samuel Alito is 64

John Roberts is 59

Nor will there be until after the November election. That doesn't stop some DU'ers from pushing the inevitability meme.
