1. Mississippi
2. Louisiana
3. Tennessee
4. Illinois
5. Pennsylvania
6. Alabama
7. Alaska
8. South Dakota
9. Kentucky
10. Florida
In contrast, the least-corrupt states were determined to be Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Vermont, Utah, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Kansas
OK- 6/10 are Southern states, and - I believe - all are Republican controlled. Article goes on to point out possible reason for their labels.

so clean and sane. They have town meetings every year with direct citizen involvement.
I'm surprised New York or New Jersey didn't make the most corrupt list.

The most two recent governors jailed. The current under investigation. Dozens of Chicago city councilmen and state legislators jailed.
