CNN guest host Jeffrey Toobin and two of the network's military analysts concluded on Sunday that America should be "grateful" that former Vice President Dick Cheney was doing interviews, and calling for military action in Iraq even though he had been so wrong about invading the country in the first place.

(13,685 posts)... it means Obama is not doing what Cheney wants. So Cheney is set to complaining. Maybe he pisses Obama off enough that Obama drops the hammer on Cheney? Go Cheney, ramp it up. All you do is remind us how bad you were.

Is he saying anything constructive or is he just bashing Obama & being defensive?

Toobin is not even one of the worst, but it isn't about being the "third estate" anymore, there is a complete hubris now with them being "stars" and being in a bubble so removed from reality they can't even fathom how far removed from reality they are. And, corporate and by extension republican whores.
SO, they trot out Cheney and find the rationale to support that.
Having Cheney speak on foreign policy is pretty much the equivalent of having Anthony Weiner speak on morality.

(22,000 posts)He is essentially arguing that it is good that Cheney is speaking up because if he does he can be held accountable for his part in starting the Iraq War. I agree with his point, Cheney needs to be held accountable.
The other thing is the guy on the left (Mudd) made a pretty bad blunder about Cheney that I didn't see on the website (or anyone on DU for that matter) mention. He called referred to him as President Cheney. I think it's telling that they want to hold the media accountable and yet can't catch something THAT small, which I caught watching once. Anyone can feel free to look through the article they posted and watch the video if they doubt what I'm saying.
