Sometimes my mind goes to a dark place and I think - just let the republicans win.

They fight so hard for their hateful, xenophobic causes. They really want a Caucasian-only, lilywhite, Christian, gun-filled society. They want spectacle - front row seats to the slaughter of anything foreign; they want anything that feeds their base megalomanic and egomanic drives.

And as a sane person, you have to confront them at one level or another or else they just win by being the loudest and angriest crowd in the room.

I am sick of the vitriol, the false outrage, the politicking, the flame baiting, the game playing, and the fear mongering.

Whenever I think on this long enough, I go to this dark place that says fuck 'em, they can have this damn country, I will just go live somewhere else.

Then I think... hypothetically, what would happen if we fully let the Republicans, oligarchs, patricians, and fascists, as well as their cronies have their way with the country, presidency, legal system etc.

The restraints would come off and the damage to the nation could be done at light speed.

I like to think that everything would crumble to dust rapidly and the nation would hit rock bottom. The wall street casino would ensure this.

Once at rock bottom, the plebs who are "not political," "one issue voters," or cultural conservatives might wake up from their collective stupor and find themselves in the reality that they allowed through their ignorance, complacency, and inaction.

What kind of society would inherit this scenario, a fascist state? a Military coup enforcing Martial Law resulting in endless war or collective nuclear suicide? Or more of the same oligopoly taken to its final conclusion - the death of the empire?

If people were really in undeniable, objective tyranny (not the propaganda based, infotainment driven, and emotionally appealing variety we currently have), perhaps then the remaining people would understand why all of those "libtards" and socialists valued things like keeping money out of politics, civil rights, a sane military (aka for defense only), or an actually just justice system.

I contemplate this dark place and I remember that I don't have to be influenced by their hate.

I want a better life for myself and those around me.

We can move forward despite others clinging to a long outdated status quo.

The will to do what is right is far stronger than any bigot's hate.
