2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSomething to remember.
No matter who wins, Hillary or Sanders you need to vote. You don't have to vote for the presidential race. You will see Senate and races that need your vote.
We need to retake the senate, and hold our own in the house.
Don't sit out the election because your pick is not at the top of the ticket. VOTE!

(24,411 posts)...I will consider myself politically homeless; and I've been a lifelong Democrat.
Hillary received praise for her hawkishness from neocon kingpin Daryl Kagan. Among her biggest campaign contributors are Citbank, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Time Warner. She has been saber ratting for war with Iran since Bush Jr was in office. She takes money from the prison-industry that needs to be completely overhauled. She is a fracking proponent.
She has done nothing meaningful or said anything that made any difference--when it comes to millionaires and billionaires failing to pay their fair share of taxes. Same goes for the corruption and crimes perpetrated by the big banks.
Elizabeth Warren is out there on the front lines--fighting, giving speeches, trying to make a difference. This fire is absent from Hillary, and she's had plenty of tenure in the Senate and as Secretary of State to further Democratic causes.
She doesn't fight against the energy companies, the pharmaceutical companies, the banks, those who want to privatize and destroy education, or the global corporations that don't pay their taxes. She doesn't because she is owned by them. They fund her campaign, because they believe that she will best serve them.
Well, they are right.
I will not vote for her. Stop blaming good Democrats for standing their ground when the problem is the corporate corruption and moneyed interests that have engulfed our democracy. If Hillary Clinton wants to play that way, that is fine. Just don't blame rational, intelligent Democrats who refuse to participate in these travesties.

(41,600 posts)(So HAPPY Anonymous is on Bernie's side - which says something in and of itself if you think about it!)
She's what's wrong with this country. With "Democrats" like her, who needs...
I'm writing in Bernie's name and may vote straight Green Party after that. Haven't decided yet. DWS/DNC need to have their asses handed to them on a Progressive platter though.
I do see a huge Progressive wave moving across this country and Anonymous will stop any electronic voting machine tampering , so Bernie WILL WIN.

(12,761 posts)Support the most progressive people on your ballot.
If your worst fear comes to pass and Hillary is elected, so be it. But at least give the Warrens, Sanders, Frankens, and other progressives in Congress as much (D) cover as you can. They can do a LOT more for the country if the Democrats have more bodies and more Committees chairs in control of the national agenda. WE NEED THAT AS MUCH AS WE NEED THE WHITE HOUSE!

(19,877 posts)So if we lose in 2016 the "liberals" on DU can't get away with saying it's not their fault. And then, when people want to write all those post-election think-pieces, everyone will blame liberals. Which will do wonders for liberalism.

(45,851 posts)Instead of taking what people are saying regarding Hillary as a cautionary tale for the Democratic party as to who may be more electable all some people want to do is rack up a blame score card.
