To their horror they saw it as being EXACTLY like the defeat of the Soviet Union and instead of the usual pink elephants their gin induced delusions saw Obama strutting around DC claiming the War On Terror had been won and there were no more terrorists.

Then there was an attack.

Republicans claimed the administration was denying it was a terrorist attack because the war on terror was won and there were no more terrorists.

That is the whole basis of their argument.
