2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCan we PLEASE stop posting Benghazi posts in General Discussion: Primaries?
That's what General Discussion is for. Keep the vague, single-sentence OP's where they belong, and where the rest of us can avoid them.
GDP is "A forum for general discussion of the Democratic presidential primaries."
Thank you.

(9,497 posts)Probably will keep them on it for a week, because it got too hard to keep trashing every single OP.
I feel like I have been cluster bombed by the circus that is going on.
I came into this election thinking Benghazi was stupid now I think it is like the Kardashians...unrelenting.

(99,708 posts)I believe you were the gentleman who challenged me to censure my fellow Clinton supporters who spoke ill of Senator Sanders and I did.
I now humbly request you return the favor:

(26,549 posts)for people to stop attacking each other's supporters.
In other words, you were not doing what you asked others to do. It had nothing to do with censuring Clinton supporters. It had to do with you.
DemocratSinceBirth
(99,708 posts)You specifically asked me to censure Cali_Democrat, whom I am unwaveringly fond of, for an untoward post and I did. If you don't want to separate yourself from the noxious comments of an associate :

all that I can do is take solace in the fact that at least I tried.

(26,549 posts)any Clinton supporters. You asked for the attacks to stop, then launched attacks - even though you were not the "first to fire".
You are responsible for what you say. I am responsible for what I say. If there are assholes who happen to like the candidates we like, we are not responsible for what those assholes say.
I do not expect you to hold massive sway over Clinton supporters on DU, especially since your call for fewer attacks was not heeded. Why do you expect me to hold massive sway over Sanders supporters?

After my pleas for comity were rejected there was no other alternative than to return to my previous position.

(11,366 posts)If we REALLY wanted to see it, we'd tune it in, somewhere.
So, posting some sort of stream of consciousness blow-by-blow for those of us who don't give a flying flip about it is kind of pointless.
We aren't reading them, anyway - but they are cluttering up the front page.

(99,708 posts)This is a glorious day for me that I am celebrating with a pizza, a beer , and a cigar...
The pizza and beer is to occupy me while Hillary kicks Republican ass and the cigar is to smoke when it's over.
Nothing can bother me on this beautiful day:

(36,392 posts)It didn't do much for me since I already hate republicans with every cell in my body. It also didn't change my mind about Mrs Clinton's Reagaesque platform. I am completely baffled about how the hearing today has any effect on her qualifications to be president, plus or minus.

Since you seem to believe Ms. Clinton is a pushover I will make the same offer to you as I made to one of your compadres:
$1000.00 says Hillary wins the nomination.
I will give my winnings to charity and document it. I am not in this for pecuniary gain or filthy lucre. If Hillary loses I will give the poster who takes the wager $1,000.00 to do with it whatever he or she wants.

(2,331 posts)But the whole point of the term Ms was to be as neutral re marriage status as Mr is for men. Many married women use it, as does the business and media world with a few holdouts.
For some reason my university still uses Miss to address mail to me, which is technically not incorrect but sounds antediluvian.

(2,331 posts)When it came into usage in the early 70s. It took a couple of decades to go mainstream. And it's not just conservative regions where it's not often used. The NY Times just recently adopted it. In fact, since I stopped buying it in 2000 after the Gore fiasco (their coverage sucked), it's possible they still don't use it. I'm not sure.

(30,481 posts)A committee has been set up to derail the candidacy of the front runner of the democratic primary. This level of corruption in government is a big deal.
The majority party has set up a committee to effect primary election results.

(82,383 posts)and since this hearing is generating those, wish to move them out to GD?
Anything to do with Hillary, Bernie, etc. has to do with the primary in some fashion.
