(5,815 posts)I hate to say it, and I do, but he's slamming her on her evolving stories. And this was always the problem. She should've come clean from the beginning about how stupid this server was. Instead, she dripped as was immediately necessary. And now he's in his glory, going to town on all her evolving stories.
*facepalm*
I think she's going to be our nominee, and god help us, I hope this is the highwater mark for Republicans with her. She handled this stupidly, her responses are stupid, and I don't think anyone believes her. The question is, "Do we care?"
As long as there isn't anything heinous involved, I don't care. As long as there isn't anything heinous involved. I'm not totally convinced there isn't a bombshell somewhere.
He is a belligerent asshole. He won't let her finish a question and he's back on the emails. He's an idiot.

(5,815 posts)He got her on the evolving story, that she changed up her admissions based on political developments. That resonates. It's long been recognized as a problem with her.

(51,308 posts)It makes me sad that anyone on a Democratic board would be on the Republican side, but hey.
I've seen worse here.

(5,815 posts)What are you looking for? Hillary, hooray! Republicans, boo! That's not the reality. Hillary fucked up and, simultaneously, Republicans have tried to exploit that to a shitty degree.
We're not debating whether or not there was an e-mail fuck up (there was), we're debating if it was important to national security or indicative of how Clinton will run the country.
C'mon now. Even Hillary supporters are going, "Ok, maybe not her best decision, but . . ."

(92,116 posts)he wouldn't accept the answer that she had others determining which emails were public and which emails were private. The dipshit didn't like that, so he said why didn't you do it, and then challenges her that she should have done it, instead of a third party.
You are not totally convinced "there isn't a bombshell somewhere?
"You hate to say it".
I doubt it. Most of the threads here today, even from Bernie supporters see what is happening. Even the corporate media
but you see right through all of that

(5,815 posts)She's put up with a bunch of shit, and I think the mainstream media story tomorrow will be, "Hillary deals with 56 hours of horseshit."
It'll benefit her among democrats. Republicans, meanwhile, will have soundbites. I think both parties will have gotten what they wanted.

(92,116 posts)already have a bias, and I admit, I have a bias, but I do try to be objective.
The question is will it influence those that AREN'T liberal, progressive, conservative, or far right. Specifically those who view themselves as moderates? I don't know
As an aside I really shouldn't be watching this. It gets my blood pressure up.
Take care

(5,815 posts)I think, among Democrat voters, Clinton did an ace job.
My noting her laugh has to do with conservatives and independents. Look, I read other points of view. I keep tabs on Republican and Conservative media. I can predict what they'll run with.
They'll run with that laugh. They'll press Scrotrum's testimony to death. Which isn't against her. I've had this on in background all day and listened to just how damn irrelevant all of it is. But in the last hour or so, Clinton faltered, Republicans smelled blood, and there's a lot of fuel for the right-wing fire.
Don't bother about me. Just watch conservatives. They'll bear what I'm saying out. She was a slam dunk for partisan Democrats, but less so for independents. (If I had to put a numerical value on things, I'd say she went 65-35 independents who give a shit)/

(146,284 posts)It may have just been a typo, but Democrats refer to their voters as "Democratic voters" always. That's because "Democratic" is the correct form of the adjective that refers to Democrats. Republicans, however, always use the word "Democrat" as an adjective in that way. They started doing that when Newt Gingrich issued his talking points memo. It's supposed to become a slur, you see, like "liberal" was targeted as a negative term.
You might want to make a note of that for future reference, so you don't appear to be a Republican who is just pretending to be a Democrat.
