21 Endorsements from New Hampshire Leaders

MANCHESTER, NH – O’Malley for New Hampshire is proud to announce 21 endorsements from leaders across the Granite State. The endorsements range from long time progressive champions to new leaders who recognize that Governor O’Malley’s record of getting things done and his progressive vision for the future is exactly what our country needs.

Today, O’Malley for NH also announced that the Former Senator Peter Burling of Cornish, Mary Rauh of New Castle, Jay Surdukowski of Concord, and Dave Allen of Manchester will all serve as New Hampshire Co-Chairs of the Campaign and announced its Granite State Steering Committee.

“Our New Hampshire team has spent the past four months building a foundation of support in communities across the state,” said O’Malley for President New Hampshire State Director John Bivona. “With offices open in Manchester, Portsmouth and Keene, we have focused on developing relationships with local activists and opinion leaders and empowering them to be the face of the campaign in their communities.”

O’Malley has been campaigning the New Hampshire way, focusing on bold ideas and neighbor-to-neighbor conversations, to build the kind of grassroots effort best suited to win the New Hampshire primary. Today, the campaign builds on that success by announcing the support of leaders from across the state who know how to organize for the FITN primary and will serve as a vital resource as the campaign progresses this fall.

Whether it’s been debt free college, wall street reform, expanding national service opportunities or tackling the substance abuse epidemic, Governor O’Malley has been leading on the issues most important to voters in New Hampshire. He hasn’t shy’d from answering questions or taking direct stands on issues. He has released “15 Goals to Rebuild the American Dream“, a bold policy agenda that builds on his record of bold and innovative leadership both as a Mayor and Governor.

Today, the following New Hampshire leaders have officially endorsed Martin O’Malley for President of the United States:

Granite State Steering Committee

Peter Burling, Co-Chair

Pete Burling is the Former Democratic Leader of the New Hampshire House of Representatives and Former State Senator. He previously served as a DNC National Committeeman.

Mary Rauh, Co-Chair

Mary currently serves on the Board of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and was a founding board member of the Women’s Fund of NH and the NH Women’s Initiative.

Dave Allen, Co-Chair

Dave is currently a Senior Vice President ad Dyn International and has been recognized as a New England Super Lawyer, Rising Star each year from 2009-2013 by Law and Politics Magazine. He has been recognized by the New Hampshire Business and Industry Association and the Union Leader as one of Forty under 40 emerging leaders in the state.

Jay Surdukowski, Co-Chair & NH Counsel

Jay, a New Hampshire native active in politics and community affairs, specializes in New Hampshire campaign finance law at Sulloway and Hollis. He has served as counsel to Governor Maggie Hassan’s reelection campaign in 2014. Jay has also been named by the Boston Globe as one of the top 115 New Hampshire Democratic endorsements in the 2016 Presidential Primary.

Dan has a long-time track record as an engaged New Hampshire citizen working on both the community level and in the world of electoral politics at home and abroad. Dan worked on six presidential campaigns and virtually every congressional and gubernatorial race in NH since 1975. Before joining the Southern New Hampshire Services team, he served as Special Assistant for Constituent Services for Senator Jeanne Shaheen.

Rachel Hampe

Rachel is a member of in the Litigation Department of McLane Middleton, where she focuses her practice on complex environmental actions and business litigation cases.Rachel was named a Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2011 and 2012. Rachel was named as one of the New Hampshire Union Leader’s “Forty Under 40? Business Leaders.

Debra Hastings

Debra is a health care professional and local democratic activist.

Don Jorgensen

An early supporter of President Barack Obama, Don is a former member of the Manchester Airport Authority and former Executive Committee Members of the Rockingham County Democratic Committee.

Pam Jorgensen

Pam is a former Londonderry Town Democratic Chair and former Treasurer of the Rockingham County Democratic Committee.

Ben Kelley

Ben practices commercial real estate at Brady Sullivan. He is also a co-founder of BevNow a Manchester based mobile technology company. Ben was named to the New Hampshire Union Leader 40 under 40 list in 2014 and sits on the board of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.

Commissioner Paul Martineau

Paul serves as the Welfare Commissioner of the Manchester Welfare Commission. Commissioner Martineau has served in elected office for 14 years in Manchester.

Norm Patenaude

Norm was elected as the Ward 1 Vice Chair of the Portsmouth Democrats this past year. He is a certified adjudicator and have worked as a hearing official at various state agencies promoting due process and fairness at hearings and writing understandable decisions. Norm currently chairs the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board at the NH Department of Labor and serves as president of the National Association of Hearing Officials.

John Rauh

John Rauh is one of the country’s leading voices on election reform. In 1992, John was the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate from New Hampshire. He has served as a board member of Common Cause and has been active on the boards of numerous civic and educational organizations, including chairing the board of the Children’s Alliance of New Hampshire.

Jerry Slagle

Jerry was an early supporter of President Barack Obama and remains a local Democratic activist in Gilford.

I am glad to hear that some people are paying attention, and have decided on O'Malley as the one that can change things and lead us into the future.
