(22,000 posts)It's too early to talk about 2016. We have a big election in less than 9 weeks and another one two years from now.

(11,464 posts)one thing it won't be, IMHO sheer demographics alone, is two white males
and saying that solely because of demographics.
Hillary and without a primary challenge.
(cue in John Houseman from the old commercial...
she EARNED it.

(4,484 posts)She's earned it and after Obama I can't think of anyone better for our country.
But that's 2016.
We've got to get this 2012 thing by a landslide first... which we will do.

(22,000 posts)People still insist she will run. I think they are wrong. Biden too will likely retire. The good thing is we have lots of rising stars. Before the convention in 2004, most people didn't know who Barack Obama was, so much for conventional wisdom.

(54,277 posts)I've grown fond of two level heads at the helm of our government. I'd like to keep that up for a while.
For the record, I don't think Hillary or Biden would be interested.
Bad Thoughts
(2,514 posts)Or at the very least, I tend to think they aren't entirely credible and would either drop out early or not get going beyond the "exploratory" phase. It will be too long since someone had a great electoral victory under their belt in order to carry them forward.
Sec. Clinton might be the only exception. She has enough name recognition, but I think she would damage he chances if she isn't in the cabinet. IMO, the speakers who looked good will be better primed for 2020 or 2024 than 2016, with the exception of Deval Patrick. Otherwise I think Gillibrand has a good shot.

(2,940 posts)I really would like to see a woman on the ticket next time, and I wish she could have a shot at it.
I have a feeling Hillary won't run, but I'd love to see her at the top of the ticket if she did. I also have a feeling Biden won't run.
I'd also love to see Deval Patrick and Elizabeth Warren in the running.

(24,096 posts)I would love to see Granholm running too, not because she's a woman so much (although that would be grand and sweet) but because she has got that something in her 'tude that is so gravitating.
I just loved her loud and boisterous show yesterday.
