Remember ... Gallup's is a seven-day rolling average...

For Obama to get a jump like that, it means he's polling very, very well these past few days because much of Romney's convention is still being counted - or at least the after parts of the convention.

I don't do predictions good, but this could be a pretty sizable bump if Obama is +2 this early after the convention (+3 overall).

all the talking heads seem giddy that this may blunt any post convention bounce for the president. They're all running with their Fox/Moonie Times/Drudge style headlines. It almost makes me think some top employers got together with the Chamber of Commerce, and timed it to coincide with the convention. Trust me, I know how far out that sounds, but people actually sounding gleeful that the jobs report wasn't what was expected, just pisses me off.

Am I being too ?

Business leaders do conspire together for their own nefarious purposes.

Some of them were caught trying to entrap Occupy Wall Street in a fake scandal in an effort to discredit them.

From -5 to +9.

But notice that there was a 5-point gain (from -5 to even) before the DNC even got started. If the RNC would have continued their anger-fest for another week, Obama's number would have kept improving.

Americans may be distressed by the state of our nation, but they really weren't interested in seeing a bunch of old angry white men yelling for 3 days solid, and saying nothing constructive.

Also notice that the latest results include practically nobody that yet saw the President's speech, and only 1/2 of the sample had an opportunity to see Clinton's speech. So the numbers will probably get a few points better than this.
