Did I hear this correctly last night? I think Obama said that Joe Biden had been

in charge of winding down the war in Iraq and getting our troops out of there. If so, then I think Biden deserves a lot of credit for getting the job done quietly. I thought that the end of the Iraq war snuck up on us very quietly. Obama made the announcement, but there wasn't much hoopla. Based on Romney's remarks at his convention, getting out of Iraq might well have been turned into a political football with the Democrats being portrayed as losing the war.

Keeping the Republicans from turning it something to beat the Democrats with ( in both senses of the term) is an outstanding accomplishment!
